Job summary

Burnett Therapeutic Services is seeking a compassionate RBT to work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays. Sessions occur in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours, with a caseload aligned to your availability.

A strong emphasis on data collection and collaboration with BCBA supervisors guides daily activities. The ideal candidate has 6 months of relevant experience, an RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification, and a willingness to obtain ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification required.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18+ and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one behavior support through fun, individualized activities.
• Implement behavior intervention plans designed by BCBA(s).
• Collect and record data on client progress accurately.
• Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and support.
• Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions.

Location: Multiple cities in Contra Costa County

Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 2-8pm. Must have afternoon and evening availability.

Work Setting: In-home or In-clinic

Compensation: $24–$25 per hour

What You’ll Do

As an RBT at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play‑based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. Your caseload will fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Deliver one‑on‑one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
• Implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
• Collect and record data on client progress accurately
• Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and support
• Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions

Qualifications

• Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
• 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must
• Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification
• Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field
• Spanish‑speaking is a plus
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Requirements

• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required for this position
• If you’re not holding an ABA paraprofessional/BT certification or training, please apply to the Behavior Technician role
• If you do not have an RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification, you must complete a 40‑hour RBT training course prior to employment
• Must maintain an active RBT/ABAT/BCAT as a requirement for continued employment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
• TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a pre‑employment physical (within the past year)
• Background check (FBI & DOJ)
