Job summary

Burnett Therapeutic Services Inc. in Oakland, CA is hiring part-time RBTs to work 1:1 with children in home, clinic, or school settings. Sessions last 2–3 hours, with caseloads matched to your availability and age groups from toddlers to teens.

You will deliver structured, play-based activities to build communication and daily living skills, under BCBA supervision, and engage families with regular progress updates.

Qualifications

• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required.
• 6 months of experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities is required.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.
• Preferred candidate is a student or graduate in psychology, education, or related field.
• Must have reliable transportation and ability to work in-home or in-clinic settings.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record data on client progress accurately.

Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 2-8pm. Must have afternoon and evening availability.

You’ll support children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. We’re hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers.

What You’ll Do

As an RBT at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

• Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
• 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a must.
• Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification.
• Preferred: Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus!
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Requirements

• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required for this position.
• (If you do not hold an ABA paraprofessional/BT certification or training, please apply to the Behavior Technician role)
• If you do not have an RBT/ABAT/OR BCAT certification, you must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment.
• Must maintain an active RBT/ABAT/BCAT as a requirement for continued employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
• This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
• This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ)
