Job summary

Burnett Therapeutic Services is hiring a part-time RBT to work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays in home or clinic settings. Sessions run 2–3 hours with caseloads matched to your availability, typically 2–8pm, Monday to Sunday, in San Rafael/Novato area.

Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required. Compensation is $24–$25 per hour, with onboarding bonuses and mileage reimbursements. We offer supervision, growth paths, and multiple benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification required.
• Preferred: current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities.
• Implement behavior intervention plans designed by BCBAs.
• Collect and record data on client progress accurately.
• Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and support.

We’re hiring entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are ready to grow their careers.

What You’ll Do

As an RBT at BTS, you’ll work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Your Responsibilities Include

Requirements

• Active RBT/ABAT/BCAT certification is required for this position.

• If you do not have an RBT/ABAT/OR BCAT certification, you must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment.
• Must maintain an active RBT/ABAT/BCAT as a requirement for continued employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
• This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
• This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ)
