Job description

Reports To: Executive Director of Student Services

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Primary Function:Under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), work directly with children with disabilities to provide skill instruction and support the implementation of behavior reduction/improvement plans based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Qualifications

.Completion of a 40-hour RBT training program, including supervision from a BCBA.

2.Successful completion of the RBT certification exam through the Behavior Analyst CertificationBoard (BACB).

3.Current and valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician

4.Experience working with children or students with behavioral and developmental challenges,especially in an educational or clinical setting.

5.Completed 60 semester hours of college credit from a regionally accredited institution of highereducation or passed the ETS parapro / WorkKeys assessment preferred

6.Passage of pre-employment medical examination, including Tuberculosis (TB) test and anyother job specific required medical testing.

7.Pass a Regional Office of Education Fingerprint based Background Clearance including FederalBureau of Investigation.

8.Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board finds appropriate and acceptable may beapproved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate support for the Mission, Beliefs and Goals of District 30-C.

2. Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations and administrative procedures.

3. Behavioral Intervention Implementation:

a. Deliver behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the BCBA.

b. Implement skill acquisition plans to support students in learning new behaviors and skills.

c. Use data collection methods such as frequency counts, interval recording, and direct observation to track student progress.

4. Student Support:

a. Provide one-on-one support to students with varying behavioral needs.

b. Use evidence-based behavioral techniques, such as positive reinforcement, discrete trial training (DTT), and natural environment teaching (NET).

c. Assist with the reduction of challenging behaviors through the consistent implementation of individualized behavior plans.

5. Data Collection and Documentation:

a. Accurately record and document behavioral data and progress in real-time.

b. Assist in the analysis of behavioral data and collaborate with the BCBA to adjust interventions as needed.

c. Complete required documentation such as daily progress notes, incident reports, and behavior tracking sheets.

a. Work closely with other team members, including teachers, counselors, and parents, to ensure consistent implementation of interventions across environments.

b. Attend team meetings to review student progress and make recommendations based on data.

7. Training and Development:

a. Participate in regular training sessions, meetings, and professional development activities related to applied behavior analysis (ABA).

b. Stay informed on best practices in the field of ABA and implement updates in interventions as necessary.

8. Maintaining Professionalism:

a. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines when working with students, families, and staff.

b. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and behavior.

9. Ability to use and model research based classroom and individualized instructional interventions (i.e., activity schedules, reinforcement principles, effective communication strategies, prompting procedures, etc.,).

10. Ability to use technology to make graphic representations of data for the purpose of data analysis and planning.

11. Guide teams in the principles of applied behavior analysis, functional behavior analysis and assessment, and behavior acquisition and reduction procedures.

12. Assist in training to build staff capacity to identify and implement evidence based, universal behavioral supports.

Salary/Benefits

Pay Rate: $21.06 per hour, in accordance with the salary placement schedule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Troy CCSD 30-C Board of Education and Troy Education Association.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Completion of mandated training through Global Compliance Network within 45 days of start date.
