Job summary

Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) seeks a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in an emotional support classroom in Aston, PA. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement evidence-based behavioral strategies, collect data, and help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Must have one year of experience working directly with children or adolescents who experience behavioral challenges.
  • RBT certification strongly preferred; training and supervision provided if not certified.
  • Crisis intervention/CPI Safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs throughout the school day.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and skill-building programs developed by a BCBA.
  • Assist with classroom instruction and school-wide PBIS initiatives.
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and student progress data.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors and teach replacement skills.
  • Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, and other educational professionals to support student success.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.

In this school-based role in Aston, PA , you'll work directly with students in an emotional support classroom, providing behavioral and emotional support throughout the school day. About DESS

Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) partners with school districts to provide evidence-based support in behavioral intervention, special education, academic programming, and student mental health. Our team helps schools better serve students with complex behavioral, cognitive, communication, and learning needs.

Qualifications

Education : High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college/university in special education, psychology or other related field; RBT certification strongly preferred. Will consider candidates in process to complete RBT Certification.

Experience : Must have one year of experience working directly with children or adolescents who experience behavioral challenges. Experience with crisis intervention/CPI Safety certification preferred. Previous RBT experience preferred, but training and supervision will be provided. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to handle crisis level behavior.
