Job summary

Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) in Broomall, PA is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work with students in a school setting. You will implement evidence‑based behavioral strategies under BCBA supervision, collect data, and support student growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–3:30 PM), competitive hourly pay, and access to clinical supervision, training, and career development programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field.
• RBT certification strongly preferred; candidates in process to complete accepted.
• One year of experience with children/adolescents with behavioral challenges encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs during the school day.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and programs developed by a BCBA.
• Assist with classroom instruction and PBIS initiatives.
• Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and student progress data.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and teach replacement skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, and other professionals.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.

In this school-based role in Broomall, PA, you'll work directly with students with diverse learning, communication, behavioral, and support needs. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you'll implement evidence-based behavioral strategies, support student growth, collect data, and help students achieve success academically, socially, and emotionally.

In This Role, You Will

• Support students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs throughout the school day
• Implement behavior intervention plans and skill-building programs developed by a BCBA
• Assist with classroom instruction and school-wide PBIS initiatives
• Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and student progress data
• Reinforce positive behaviors and teach replacement skills
• Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, and other educational professionals to support student success
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

About DESS

Devereux Educational Strategies and Solutions (DESS) partners with school districts to provide evidence-based support in behavioral intervention, special education, academic programming, and student mental health. Our team helps schools better serve students with complex behavioral, cognitive, communication, and learning needs.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college/university in special education, psychology or other related field; RBT certification strongly preferred. Will consider candidates in process to complete RBT Certification.

Experience: Must have one year of experience working directly with children or adolescents who experience behavioral challenges. Experience with crisis intervention/CPI Safety certification preferred. Previous RBT experience preferred, but training and supervision will be provided. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to handle crisis level behavior.
