Today, DDI is a dynamic, nonprofit, multi-site agency serving hundreds of children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, offering educational, residential, habilitative, vocational, transportation, and self-direction support to the Long Island community.

Salary Range: $25.00- $27.50/hour

What You'll Do At DDI

  • Observe and interview staff regarding behavioral concerns to inform the Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS)/Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) Assistant.
  • Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in the Behavior Support Plan (BSP), including preference assessments, functional communication, and differential reinforcement interventions.
  • Monitor data collection to assess BSP progress.
  • Observe staff to ensure BSP adherence and provide feedback and modeling.
  • Collect and record data, complete progress reports on behavioral, social, and life skills.
  • Coordinate review and monitor usage of SCIP-R.
  • Provide in-service training for staff on behavior plans and support methods.
  • Participate in staff meetings and IDTs.
  • Handle emergencies and understand relevant regulations.
  • Advance professional knowledge through reading and training.
  • Work independently to meet caseload needs and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Serve as a professional role model.
