Behavior Technicians focus on delivering compassionate care to patients and their families. You will work under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst to provide care to patients with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities. Your primary duties will include:

  • Implementing approved treatment plans using applied behavior analysis.
  • Applying reinforcement procedures effectively.
  • Assisting with functional behavior assessments.
  • Communicating with parents about progress and strategies.
  • Participating in supervision with the Outpatient Behavior Analyst.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Provides empathetic and patient-centered care.
  • Is flexible and enjoys working with children.
  • Has effective communication skills and is open to feedback.
  • Holds an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related fields.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting functional behavior assessments with support from the Behavior Analyst.

  • Participating in supervision and other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree required; experience in ABA can offset this requirement.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Certifications:

  • Complete 40-hour coursework for RBT certification before start date.
  • Complete RBT competency assessment and exam within 30 days of hire.
  • BCBA or BCaBA certification may substitute for RBT requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in stressful situations and communicate effectively.
  • Build rapport with diverse families.
  • Proficient in computer use.

Experience:

  • 6 months of experience working with children with autism preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Full body motion, handling, lifting, and dexterity.
  • Ability to manage patients of various sizes.
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing.

Protective Equipment:

  • Use PPE as required.
