Job summary

Alabama Autism Assistance Program in Birmingham, AL is seeking a registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to deliver evidence-based ABA therapy with BCBA supervision, helping individuals with autism reach their potential. Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior intervention techniques

Responsibilities

  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Collect and record accurate behavioral data during each therapy session
  • Support clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Use positive reinforcement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and increase adaptive behaviors
  • Maintain detailed session notes and progress documentation in compliance with program standards
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency across environments
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
