Job summary

Akua Mind Body in California is seeking a Clinical Technician to support patients in addiction and mental health treatment settings. This full‑time, non‑exempt role pays $23 hourly and includes benefits.

The position involves direct client care, safety checks, intakes/discharges, medication observation, and group sessions, with documentation in KIPU EMR. Shift: PM (2:30pm–11:00pm).

Qualifications

• RADT/SUDRC/RAC credentials are required or willingness to obtain them.
• Education: HS Diploma/GED or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years sobriety from chemical dependency required.
• Valid CA Driver's License required.
• Current Health Screen and TB Test Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients through daily activities, programming, appointments and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: conduct rounds and monitor all patients.
• Intakes & Discharges: lead patient intakes and discharges from the facility.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration of medications.
• Group Facilitation: lead group sessions (life skills, art therapy, outings).
• Documentation: record notes in the EMR system (KIPU).

Position: Clinical Technician

Available Shifts:

• PM (2:30pm - 11:00pm)

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. “rounds”).
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required); candidates who are willing to get their RADT/SUDRC/RAC (9-hour online course) are encouraged to apply
• Education: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
• Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years freedom from chemical dependency (required)
• Valid CA Driver's License (required)
