Job description

Part-Time: 20 Hours Per Week
1st Shift: 8am - 4:30pm w/One Evening Until 6:30pm
Monday - Friday
Location: Autism Center

Summary:

The Registered ABA Behavior Technician II (RBT Level 2) will work directly with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. The RBT Level 2 is an advanced role requiring a higher level of responsibility, expertise, and autonomy than a standard RBT. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT Level 2 will implement advanced behavior intervention strategies, provide training to RBT Level 1 staff, and support clients in reaching therapeutic goals across various life domains.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement individualized ABA therapy programs under the supervision of a BCBA.
  2. Work directly with clients to teach new skills and reduce problematic behaviors.
  3. Collect and record data on client progress, behavior frequency, and program outcomes.
  4. Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust behavior intervention plans as needed.
  5. Provide positive reinforcement and support to clients during therapy sessions.
  6. Follow protocols for managing challenging behaviors and ensuring client safety.
  7. Maintain clear communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on client progress.
  8. Work with a team of professionals, including BCBAs and other therapists, to ensure consistent therapy implementation.
  9. Participate in training and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge of ABA techniques.
  10. Assist in the development of client goals and behavior management strategies.
  11. Provide training and clinical guidance to RBT Level 1 staff as directed by BCBA.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

  1. Experience working with electronic medical record software, such as EPIC, is preferred.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
  3. Experience providing clinical services through telehealth is preferred.

Experience and Education

  1. Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
  2. Certification: Must have a valid RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification. Additional ABA-related certifications or training is a plus.
  3. Years of relevant experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an ABA registered behavior technician or in a related field, particularly with clients on the autism spectrum or other developmental disabilities is required.
