Job summary

Casa-of-Hobar seeks an experienced registered nurse supervisor to coordinate total customer care in a geriatric facility. The RN directs and coordinates nursing units with daily staffing verification, collaboration with charge nurses, and rounds to assess patient conditions, especially for critically ill individuals.

Responsibilities include handling emergencies, ensuring safety and sanitation, and supporting families and staff while upholding nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in geriatric nursing or long-term care is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, techniques and practices.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This employee has the responsibility for the coordination of total customer care. RN performs responsible supervisory and professional work in directing and coordinating all nursing units.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• 1. Verifies, daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary;
• 2. Collaborates with all charge nurses daily, to exchange information regarding
• 3. Makes rounds, morning and night, to assess customers' condition, giving special
  attention to critically ill customers;
• 4. Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of customer
  condition, starting IV's, pronouncement of death);
• 5. Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for customers, employees, and
  visitors;

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements:

• 1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 2. Experience in the nursing field, especially in geriatric nursing.

Job Skills:

• 1. Must have thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques and practices.
• 2. Must have thorough knowledge of the specialized procedures applied and : equipment used in the area to which assigned.
• 3. Must have knowledge of medications, their proper dosage and expected results.

Performs Related Duties:

• 1. The RN/LPN interacts with customers, families, visitors, center
  and Care Center Facility subsidiary personnel.
• 2. He/She carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
