Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Regional Warehouse and Distribution Manager to lead operations in Upington, Northern Cape. You will supervise receiving, storage, picking, packing, and outbound distribution, ensuring efficiency and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field, plus 7+ years in warehouse/distribution management (3+ in leadership). You will drive cost controls, service levels, and collaborate with procurement, sales, and transport teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
7+ years of progressive warehouse and distribution management experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Proven experience managing large-scale distribution centers.
In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and WMS.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in warehouse environments.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Budget management and cost control experience.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
Oversee inventory management processes, ensure accuracy, and implement cycle count programs.
Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and clerks.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers for inbound/outbound transportation.
Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
Develop and manage the warehouse budget and control operational expenditures.
Collaborate with procurement, sales, and transportation to align supply chain activities with business needs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center.
