Position: Regional Sales Manager (United States of America)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Regional Sales Manager manages the sale of Merit products within a specified region, supporting Account Executives in understanding and meeting client needs. Responsibilities include hiring, developing, and training sales staff, monitoring sales performance, and providing feedback to improve product offerings based on customer insights.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Evaluate and hire Account Executives; train them on customer needs, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  2. Support sales representatives by providing feedback, coaching, and strategic guidance to enhance sales presentations and productivity.
  3. Address questions from Account Executives and clients regarding pricing, product defects, or replacements.
  4. Report on individual and team sales performance relative to goals.
  5. Develop and implement marketing strategies; assist sales staff in understanding and executing these strategies.
  6. Analyze sales data and regional reports to monitor performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  7. Coordinate with manufacturing, marketing, and other departments to resolve product quality or process issues.
  8. Prepare reports on sales performance and market trends for management review.
  9. Monitor customer satisfaction and gather feedback to improve products and services.
  10. Track competitor activity and market share to inform sales strategies.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, with coursework in marketing.
  • At least seven years of experience managing a successful sales team, preferably in the medical device industry, specifically in the PI space.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer service principles, and team management.
  • Ability to evaluate and improve sales presentations and build customer rapport.
  • Knowledge of management principles and team development.
  • Willingness to work long hours and travel frequently.
  • Understanding of the medical manufacturing industry and collaboration with manufacturing and marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication, record-keeping, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant software tools.
