Position Requirements

The position of Regional Vice President of Operations (RVP), of Client Services with the Mid-West Region, will be responsible for successfully leading, in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Clinical Services, the financial, clinical, and relationship aspects of the region’s anesthesia practices within hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and office-based locations. Together as a team, the VP of Operations and SVP of Clinical Services essentially serve as co-CEO of a region. Working under the direction of the Chief Operation Officer, this position will collaborate with all NAPA internal operational departments to ensure client retention and positive clinical, operational, and financial results.

  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with and be able to communicate a strong understanding of the business to:
    • Hospital, ASC, and Office Based client representatives at all executive, management, and clinical levels.
    • The NAPA Clinical Chief, senior physicians, and CRNAs at the client sites.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal operational relationships with:
    • Finance / Accounting
    • Business Development / Marketing
    • Healthcare Analytics
    • Human Resources / Clinical Recruitment
    • Contacting / Credentialing
    • Clinical Services Administration (Quality, Risk Management, Pain)
    • Information Systems
    • Legal / Compliance
  • Develop, lead, and manage annual plans for each hospital, ASC, and Office Based practice including goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Help develop and implement the organization’s talent and operational strategies to assure the provider teams are skilled and prepared in anticipation of all client facility needs.
  • Take a lead role in managing a national program that cuts across all regions within NAPA.
  • Monitor and own appropriate actions from operational, financial, and clinical data.
  • Provide financial, quality, and service reports to clients and attend client meetings monthly, quarterly, or as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for Business Development (BD) and support BD in its sales process to meet the annual region goals.
  • Assisting with and onboarding of M&A and Organic Growth targets.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to generate additional EBIDTA within current customer sites.
  • Continuously identify business risks and opportunities and develop strategies to mitigate or capitalize on them as appropriate.
  • Support Marketing in the development and enhancement of NAPA’s brand, identity, and market positioning.
  • Participate in committees or work groups as needed such as Implementation, Diligence, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years work experience:
    • 5 of which are directly related to managing client and internal operations relationships.
    • 2 of which are working with the hospital / health system C-Suite.
  • P&L ownership / leadership.
  • Demonstrated strong B2B and / or B2C negotiations.
  • Surgical service experience a plus.
  • Strong skills in communication, conflict management, presenting, and prioritizing.
  • Expertise in analysis, finance and / or contract negotiation strategies.
  • Leadership skills including the ability to motivate and empower others in order to achieve company goals.
  • A team player with the personality and self-assurance to integrate, work alongside, and learn from the incumbent management team.
  • A high energy, proactive problem solver who works with sufficient urgency and sets themselves stretch targets.
  • Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, several times per month. Approximately 20% travel per month.
  • Capacity to attend meetings / events in the evening and sometimes weekends.
  • Required to reside in the Mid-West Region (WI, IL, TN)

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
