Job summary
Alliance Animal Health is seeking a Regional Medical Director to provide medical leadership and clinical support for two Southern Illinois practices—Lakeside Veterinary Hospital in Carbondale and Central Hospital for Animals in Herrin. This hands-on role blends clinical medicine with leadership, mentoring, and strategic growth across both hospitals.
The ideal candidate will practice medicine while developing teams, and there is a pathway to long-term partnership.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois veterinary license or ability to obtain.
- 5+ years of clinical experience as a veterinarian.
- Strong clinical and surgical skills with confidence in general practice medicine.
- Leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical leadership and support across both hospital teams.
- Continue practicing clinical medicine while mentoring doctors.
- Mentor and develop associate veterinarians.
- Support clinical growth in surgery, diagnostics, case management, and quality of care.
- Partner with leadership to identify growth opportunities for both hospitals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Support engagement, development, and retention across both practices.
