Job description

Overview:

The Regional Training Manager is responsible for creating and implementing the Training & Development curriculum for the field sales organization. This role involves delivering the Sales Training Journey through eLearning, virtual training, hands-on training, and in-person instruction. A key responsibility is coaching and developing trainees, providing feedback to Sales Management, and adopting the Challenger Sales Framework language and process. The role requires approximately 50% travel for field responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate onboarding and development of new hires
  • Guide new hires through the Sight Science Training Journey
  • Provide coaching and development to ensure progress and mastery of materials
  • Establish rapport and feedback loops with Sales Management
  • Complete Field Coaching Reports (FCR) for formal feedback
  • Track trainees' progress to ensure timely development and understanding
  • Participate in field rides and certification to translate classroom training into field execution
  • Create and document new training content and best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on content and strategy for Sales Meetings and new product launches
  • Develop curriculum and educational materials tailored to adult learning principles
  • Work with stakeholders to shape sales training based on business strategies and market insights
  • Support Continuing Education and physician-led Journal Club content creation and delivery
  • Participate in Masters Class programming and support Competitive Workshops and related content
  • Collaborate with Field Trainers for ongoing education
  • Participate in Challenger Sales Framework workshops and work towards certification as a trainer
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to update messaging and content for the field
  • Assist Sales Management with Challenger role plays, workshops, and exercises
General:

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • Proven experience in classroom training and adult learning principles
  • 5+ years of top-tier sales experience in surgical ophthalmology and/or optometry
  • Alignment with Sight Sciences values and behaviors
  • Fluency in adult learning principles
  • Experience in medical device sales training or similar industry
  • Strong relationship-building, curriculum development, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide targeted coaching feedback
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of the human eye, ocular surgeries, and glaucoma
  • Certifications in sales training models and personnel management
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% overnight
