Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a Regional Technical Specialist to support regional service operations. You will troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and workflow issues on-site and via phone, while coaching regional technicians.

The role requires 4–6 years of related experience, an appropriate technical background, and willingness to obtain necessary security clearances. Strong communication and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; 4–6 years related experience.
  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Printer knowledge and testing/diagnostic applications.
  • Ability to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ability to create solutions for high-level problems.
  • Strong writing, speaking and listening skills.
  • Shows initiative and self-starting behavior.
  • Understands computer science, mechanical, electrical and electronic theory.
  • Typically available for work 24/7.
  • Must obtain security/clearances as required by customers.
  • Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, MCSE desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-going technical, on-site and phone support to regional technicians to troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Delivers regional instruction on adjustments, repairs, upgrades and troubleshooting procedures.
  • May create, organize and share information across the region for engineers.
  • Maintains and updates problem records; escalates to Product support when needed.
  • Manages regional FCO database for compliance and timely installation/disposition.
  • Works with Product support on knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Performs additional special projects as assigned by regional service Director.

About the Role

Canon USA Regional Technical Specialists support Regional Service Directors as the technical voice on regional priorities.

Your Impact
  • Provides on-going technical, on-site and phone support to regional Canon USA direct technicians and applicable service agents to troubleshoot highly complex problems including hardware, firmware and workflow.
  • Provides regional instruction on new adjustments, repairs, upgrades and troubleshooting procedures, including guidance on better utilization of available resources.
  • May create, organize and disseminate information throughout the region so that other engineers can perform their duties more efficiently.
  • Maintains and updates applicable problem records, escalating any resolved or unresolved problems to Product support for immediate attention.
  • Manages regional FCO database to ensure compliance and timely installation/disposition.
  • Works closely with the Product support group on information sharing and best practice implementation.
  • Accomplishes any other special projects or tasks as assigned by the regional service Director or designee.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Generally available for work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers' premises.
  • Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, MCSE desired.

We are providing the anticipated hourly rate for this role: $33.59 to 50.30 hourly. This role is eligible for a transportation allowance.
