Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Regional Structural Engineering Discipline Leader to guide design of structural systems across Higher Education, Cultural & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Justice/Civic, and Science & Technology sectors.

You will lead structural engineering teams, collaborate with architects and engineers, and drive technical leadership, mentorship, and project profitability within your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering required.
• 10+ years of building-related structural engineering experience including concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.
• Experience leading teams of engineers on projects.
• Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).
• Experience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.
• Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations, execution, and expectations for the Structural Engineering Discipline in the region.
• Plan and manage structural engineering projects and staff to meet profitability goals.
• Assign duties and balance staffing to achieve profit and revenue growth.
• Schedule and document meetings with staff and clients.
• Support business development through RFPs, interviews, and industry involvement.
• Ensure high-quality designs and coordination of structural systems.
