The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. The BPHC oversees the medical services and clinical operations of eight Sexual Health Clinics, nine COVID Express Testing Clinics, three COVID Vaccine Operation Clinics, and four Tuberculosis Chest Clinics. One Immunization Clinic will join BHPC in the near future. To achieve its mission, the BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers. PHC seeks to hire an Administrative PH Nurse position to serve as the Regional STI Nursing Supervisor. This position will be working closely with the Deputy Director of Nursing Sexual Health Services and provide leadership and supervision to the front-line nursing staff.
Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To
- Responsible for the supervision of STI nursing staff.
- Oversee the administration of the nursing program.
- Responsible for the implementation of new policies, procedures, and programs.
- Training nurses on evidence-based interventions and conducting quality assurance/improvement of the nursing program.
Additional Information
Must follow all safety, security, Blood-borne pathogen exposure, infection control, and hazardous materials policies and procedures to assure a safe environment for staff and students. This includes using: personal protective wear, good hand hygiene, and adhering to sharps safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- A valid New York state license as a Registered Nurse, a baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited college and a master's degree in Nursing, Public Health or a related field, plus four years of recent experience in public health or hospital nursing or a related field; at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive, consultative or educational capacity, or in supervision of professional public health nursing personnel working in any of the above mentioned areas; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must possess a valid New York State license as a Registered Nurse, and a baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited college; and must possess the 18 months of specialized experience as described in "1" above.
