Job description

Regional Sales Manager - School & Commercial Vehicles - Western PA & WV

An outside sales position for our Western PA and Northern WV Area of Responsibility is immediately available. The position offers salary commensurate with experience and a Bonus based on productivity and profitability. As the economy has reopened post-COVID, we are positioned to capitalize on sales opportunities. Looking for School and/or Commercial Vehicle Sales Professional(s) to improve our exposure, manage expenses, and increase company profitability. A home base in the Pittsburgh PA to New Stanton PA corridor would be ideal.

Primary Objectives

  1. Be responsible for all aspects of a sale, including product evaluation, pricing negotiations, contract development, ensuring successful product fulfillment and payment according to the contractual agreement.
  2. Create and develop relationships with transit agencies, school districts and private fleet operators to ensure responsiveness and eliminate competition on bids.
  3. Manage all sales activities within the assigned territory.
  4. Work with the Manufacturer’s Representatives to grow existing business and proactively search for new business.
  5. Maintain an understanding of the company’s processes including parts, service, warranty and accounting procedures.
  6. Follow internal processes to properly document all activities.
  7. Maintain detailed account profiles and activities and update management on account status, business opportunities and trends on a regular basis.
  8. Interface with Sales Administrator for pre & post sales product related issues.
  9. Forecast and track sales of existing accounts.
  10. Travel and make sales calls within assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  11. Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  12. This position will have authority to make decisions specific to the area of responsibility they are assigned to. This will include overall supervision of each bid and ensure communication with the Sales Administrator. Total success of each bid, order and payment will be the Regional Manager’s full responsibility.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  1. Ability to build strong long-term relationships with customers.
  2. Proven track record at achieving measurable revenue goals.
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to operate responsibly and independently without supervision.
  4. Able to travel when required performing effectively.
  5. Must live in assigned geographic area.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as outstanding overall presentation skills.
  7. Strong negotiating skills.
  8. Ability to prioritize time, multitask and manage a large workload.
  9. Flexible, reliable, strong work ethic, dependable, team player, positive, constructive attitude.
  10. High school education is required; college level would be advantageous.
  11. Minimum two years past sales experience or proven sales record showing successful results (previous vehicle sales preferred).

Work Requirements

  1. Ability to travel for coverage of sales area.
  2. Personal computer operation including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
  3. Daily communication with immediate supervisor.
