Encon Safety Products, Inc. started manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas, in 1964. Located in the heart of the U.S. Gulf Coast petrochemical industry, Encon developed its emergency and safety products manufacturing business focusing on solving problems for hazardous-area applications. Since our inception, Encon has designed and manufactured market-leading personal protective equipment and hazardous-area storage cases to protect people, plant, and equipment. Coined from the words Environmental Controls, Encon Safety Products today operates in two manufacturing locations to serve our customer base worldwide.

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for developing and implementing a sales strategy, participating in the marketing plan, and achieving budgeted sales volume for Encon Safety Products within their defined geographical regional trade area while maintaining the budgeted sales expense levels set by Encon Safety Products management.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Sales and Market Growth:

The individual will be responsible for:

  • Achieving sales and EBIT objectives for assigned products in all existing accounts and designated markets while staying within set expense objectives for all activity in the territory.
  • Achieving market penetration goals.
  • Maintaining and developing distributor relationships to help achieve sales goals.
  • Completing Management by Objective (MBO) goals as determined by Encon Sales Management.
  • Assisting in developing the catalog and advertising programs with the Marketing Department.
  • Managing distributor partners and/or manufacturer representatives, including setting goals and follow-up.
  • Following up on potential sales opportunities and product leads in the territory.
  • Assisting in preparing proposals and negotiations with customers.
  • Identifying and recommending additional distribution channels.
  • Participating in corporate support efforts as needed.
Business Strategy:

The individual must be able to:

  • Develop strategies for sales growth in targeted accounts.
  • Achieve market share goals.
  • Implement product strategies, including new product recommendations.
  • Evaluate and adjust the distribution network for market penetration.
Sales Skills:

The individual must be entrepreneurial, assertive, and possess the experience, skills, and attitude to achieve market share goals.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent industry experience. The preferred candidate should have five years of managing technical industrial product programs, with expertise in primary product distribution channels.
