Job summary

Reading Truck seeks a Regional Sales Manager to strengthen distributor partnerships, open doors to new business, and expand Reading Truck’s presence with fleets, municipalities, and end users. The role is built for a relationship‑builder who develops markets, uncovers opportunities, and drives profitable growth across the East Central region.

You will own your territory, drive revenue, and collaborate with internal teams to meet pricing, lead times, and production requirements while delivering

Qualifications

• 5+ years outside sales experience with a proven growth track record.
• Strong ability to develop trusted distributor partnerships.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; proficiency in Salesforce and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver sales objectives across your territory, identifying opportunities to accelerate profitable growth.
• Expand Reading Truck’s customer and distributor portfolio by developing new relationships and opening doors in new markets.
• Grow fleet business by identifying opportunities with regional fleets and coordinating with Engineering on custom body solutions and Operations on capacity and lead times.
• Stay ahead of market and competitive activity and translate insights into actionable plans for sales leadership.
• Improve internal and customer-facing processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and the overall customer experience.
• Support customers with service and warranty needs while maintaining strong, long-term relationships.

Be the driving force behind Reading Truck's growth. You'll strengthen key distributor partnerships, open doors to new business, and expand Reading Truck's presence with fleets, municipalities, and end users.

This is a role for a relationship-builder and growth-minded sales leader who knows how to develop a market, uncover opportunities, and turn partnerships into results. You'll own your region, drive profitable growth, build customer loyalty, and help take the Reading Truck brand even further.

• Drive Sales & Profitability: Own and deliver sales and profit objectives across your assigned territory, identifying opportunities to accelerate profitable growth.

• Expand the Market: Grow Reading Truck’s customer and distributor portfolio by developing new relationships, expanding the customer base, and opening doors in new markets.

• Grow Fleet Business: Identify and develop opportunities with regional fleets, partnering with Engineering on custom body solutions and Operations on capacity, lead times, and production requirements.

• Know the Competition: Stay ahead of market and competitive activity—including products, locations, services, positioning, and emerging trends—and turn those insights into actionable information for sales leadership.

• Improve How We Work: Identify opportunities to strengthen internal and customer-facing processes, improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and the overall customer experience.

• Deliver on Customer Expectations: Balance customer needs with operational capabilities, setting clear and realistic expectations around pricing, lead times, production requirements, and delivery.

• Support the Customer: Partner with internal teams to help resolve service and warranty needs while maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships.

• Step Up & Contribute: Take on additional responsibilities and opportunities that support the team, our customers, and the continued growth of Reading Truck.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Sales Success: 5+ years of outside sales experience in a comparable industry with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding growth and revenue goals.

• Relationship Builder: Strong ability to develop trusted customer, distributor, and internal partnerships.

• Business & Customer Acumen: Ability to understand customer needs, identify opportunities, solve problems, and make sound business decisions.

• Communication & Organization: Strong presentation, negotiation, prioritization, and territory management skills.

• Education & Technology: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
