Regional Sales Manager – Better Tools - Remote

Founded in 1965 by Charles Biehn Sr., American Cutting Edge is a manufacturer and reseller of industrial cutting tools and products. In 1991, American Cutting Edge added blades for the flooring industry and formed Better Tools. The Better Tools Mission is to “relentlessly serve our customers.”

Our continued growth has created the need for a full-time, Remote, Regional Sales Manager covering the Southwest & Central US territory for our Better Tools business. At Better Tools, we specialize in providing cutting and tool solutions to the flooring industry, focusing on both the professional and DIY installer. Major Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct sales activities with existing customers and prospect accounts to maintain relationships and increase sales.
  • Actively develop prospects and targets, prioritize opportunities, and develop strategic supply proposals to gain incremental business.
  • Become proficient with company information systems including SAGE and regularly used reporting tools through training and self-learning.
  • Collect market intelligence and customer decision criteria to recommend effective sales proposals.
  • Skillfully present compelling supply package presentations resulting in awarded business.
  • Partner with the Field Sales Director to develop annual sales budget & strategy and execute the plan accordingly.
  • Review sales progress regularly against goals and re-align efforts to ensure targets are being successfully achieved.
  • Interact and coordinate with other functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with marketing personnel to develop sales promotion plans for target products.
  • Regularly attend sales trade and/or vendor shows to promote/demonstrate products and develop business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Live within the assigned territory.
  • 3-5 years of experience selling products in the building materials industry, preferably tools for the flooring trade.
  • Knowledge of how to use flooring installation tools, with commercial or residential flooring installation experience a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel & Outlook. Knowledge of SAGE software systems is a plus.
  • Experience managing programs and relationships with wholesale distributors and dealers.
  • Proven track record of sales success including existing customer growth and closing new business.
  • Travel (≈ 50%) will be required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently in an organized and efficient manner.
