As the Regional Sales Director of Field Sales, Central, you will spearhead a dynamic team comprised of Regional Account Executives and market coordinators (freelancers) across multiple cities within your region, implementing our field sales strategy with a customer-first mindset. Your primary responsibility will be to embody the Living Proof vision while executing our brick-and-mortar retail strategy. Your enthusiasm for educating and inspiring others will be vital as you navigate the diverse needs of the business. Reporting to the VP Retail North America, Sales and Trade Marketing, you will ensure that sales goals are achieved across your region and collaborate effectively with the sell in and trade marketing teams for seamless execution of retail initiatives. You will foster strong relationships with Ulta and Sephora Area, District and Regional managers. The Central Regional Sales Director oversees the region including the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and retain market coordinators (freelancers) within your region. Coach and motivate your entire team to achieve optimal sales performance, leveraging retail results to drive improvements.
  • Education and Events: Collaborate with the National Retail Events & Education Manager to ensure that all education and event priorities are executed within brand standards. Responsible for training market coordinators on all product knowledge, creating unique ways to educate in partnership with your peer Regional Sales Directors.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Create call cycles for FT field employees and brand ambassadors within region in partnership with the VP of Sales, ensuring timely completion of schedules both internally and within retailer systems. Develop detailed by door plans that are aligned with the brand strategy to grow the Living Proof business in each territory.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor sales performance and identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement. Conduct weekly performance reviews, providing coaching and strategic insights to optimize performance. Prepare weekly recaps highlighting sales and event performance, trends, ROI, and areas for enhancement.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the travel and operational budgets for your region. Collaborate with the Senior Director of National Accounts and VP of Sales to forecast and manage spending in alignment with the budget.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with other Regional Sales Directors to plan monthly team calls that celebrate achievements, align on company priorities, and facilitate education. Share the brand vision and strategies with the team, always creating a pathway for each team member to achieve their goals.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Partner with the sell-in and trade marketing teams to address visual merchandising and inventory challenges, ensuring effective execution at the point of sale. Share insights on competitor activities and all opportunities to enhance retail performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively connect with district and regional management teams for key retailers to ensure Living Proof is maximizing all market-level opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years in multi-door field sales and education within the prestige cosmetics industry, with a passion for retail and education at Ulta and/or Sephora.
  • Proven experience managing and driving sales at Ulta and/or Sephora, with a deep understanding of leading beauty brands.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time; hours of work must be flexible and include weekends to meet job objectives. Minimum of two Saturdays/month are required.
  • Strong operational and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record in hiring, training and developing field sales executives and/or freelancers.
  • Strategic thinker with the capacity to develop and implement comprehensive retail sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
