A renowned tourism organization is seeking a Regional Sales Account Executive to enhance its presence in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will proactively generate leads, develop key relationships, and engage in regional networking events. DEPARTMENT: CONVENTION SALES
ACCOUNTABLE TO: SR. VP OF CONVENTION SALES & STRATEGIES
STATUS: EXEMPT, FULL-TIME
Primary Objective of the Position:
Serve as a strategic representative of New Orleans & Company in the Washington, DC region to promote New Orleans as a top-tier meeting and convention destination. The primary focus is to generate qualified sales leads and build lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, including executive leadership, meeting professionals, and third-party planners. This role will actively engage in sales calls, local and national industry events, and customer activations to secure new business opportunities for New Orleans. Collaboration with the New Orleans-based sales and services teams is essential to maximize results and elevate the destination’s visibility. This is a Washington, DC -based, remote position.
Major Areas of Accountability/Essential Duties:
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position operates in several different environments, but predominantly in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. Does not entail exposure to challenging or hazardous conditions. This position will require frequent weeknight and weekend assignments, often off-site, including occasional overnight stays. Ability to travel by airplane and operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibility for Work of Others: Supervision of one (1) shared New Orleans based sales coordinator. Work as assigned with other New Orleans based sales account executives.
