Type: Full-Time, Permanent W2 Employee
Reports To: Safety Manager

Intro:

Since 1963, Sheakley has been a trusted leader in safety management across high-risk industries. We're currently hiring a Regional Safety Specialist for a full-time permanent role overseeing safety on rotating construction and industrial projects throughout the Ohio Valley. Each project typically lasts 2-6 months, and this position requires full travel flexibility. Ideal for a hands-on safety professional who thrives in changing environments and values long-term stability with a reputable company.

Compensation:

Annual Salary: $85,000 - $100,000
Weekend Bonus: $350/day for weekend work
Company Vehicle: Truck and fuel card provided
Per Diem: $35/day when traveling
Lodging/Travel: Hotel and travel expenses fully reimbursed
Benefits: Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule & Travel:

Expected Hours: 40-50 hours per week
Travel Requirement: Yes - this is a regional position requiring full travel and relocation between projects
Project Duration: Each assignment lasts approximately 2-6 months, with ongoing work across multiple states

Project Scope:

This position supports safety oversight across a range of industrial and infrastructure project types, including:
• Heavy civil and transportation construction
• Industrial maintenance and manufacturing
• Power and energy facilities
• Water and wastewater treatment plants
• Marine and dockside construction
• Underground utility and pipeline installation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree , not required
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 10 & 30
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid driver's license required
• BCSP certification (CHST, ASP, or CSP)
• Experience with pipeline or underground pipework is a strong plus
• OQ Evaluator certification is a major plus
• Experience with private-sector construction is helpful

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state safety standards
• Strong audit, inspection, and documentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety tools
• Effective communication, organization, and training abilities
• Able to operate independently and adapt to high-paced environments
• Understands safety leading/lagging indicators and how to apply them operationally

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce site-specific Safety & Health Programs
• Conduct pre-job planning, orientations, and daily safety briefings
• Perform inspections, evaluations, and behavioral observations
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective strategies
• Maintain training logs and deliver jobsite safety education
• Coordinate subcontractor safety efforts and ensure full compliance
• Interface with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies as needed
• Serve as a field point-of-contact under guidance of Safety Manager
