Job summary

McKee Utility Contractors is seeking a Regional Safety Manager for an ongoing project in San Marcos, TX. You will support the Corporate Safety Director, conduct daily site inspections, and help develop safety plans and documentation to ensure CFR compliance.

The role requires CHST certification and OSHA 500 training, with a minimum of five years in heavy civil construction safety. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• CHST certification required or equivalent.
• OSHA Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500) certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety.
• Knowledge of excavation/trenches, shoring, confined space, fall protection, rigging, traffic control, and site safety plans.
• Bilingual English/Spanish encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Corporate Safety Director in managing the safety program.
• Inspect projects daily for compliance with company policies and CFR 1926 standards.
• Assist Division/Operations Managers with site safety plans and documentation.
• Prepare and submit weekly safety reports to leadership.
• Document incidents and injuries and manage case actions.
• Assist in employee training, orientation, and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Corporate Safety Director in managing the existing safety program.
• Perform daily inspections of projects in the assigned division to ensure employees are adhering to Company safety policies and procedures as well as ensuring compliance with CFR 1926 standards.
• Assist Division Managers and Operations Managers in any safety matters that arise such as development of site-specific safety plans, emergency action plans, and documentation of safety.
• Prepare and submit a weekly safety report to the Corporate Safety Director and Division Manager outlining any safety-related issues and/or non-compliance matters.
• Document and all incidents and/or injuries and take appropriate action under the direction and in accordance with corporate case management system(s).
• Assist in training, orientation and coaching of employees.

Qualifications

• Construction Health and Safety Technician (“CHST”)
• OSHA Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500)
• Applicants shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction safety.
• Experience/education/understanding of excavation/trenches, shoring, confined space, fall protection, rigging, traffic control, and site safety plans.
• Candidates that are bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.
