Qualifications

  • Experience in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety within transportation, logistics, or related industries.

  • Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and regulatory requirements applicable to trucking and transportation operations.
  • Experience with Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis, including implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, and relevant state safety regulations and best practices.

Role Description

The Regional Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Prince George or Blackstone, VA, responsible for overseeing safety programs and compliance across designated terminals and operations. This role includes implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and inspections, and leading training sessions for drivers, mechanics, and other staff. The Regional Safety Manager investigates accidents and incidents, analyzes root causes, and recommends corrective and preventive actions. Day-to-day tasks involve collaborating with operations leadership, maintaining accurate safety records and reports, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk, promoting a safety-focused culture, and enhancing overall operational performance.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety within transportation, logistics, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Safety Training, including delivering safety programs and coaching personnel on safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and regulatory requirements applicable to trucking and transportation operations.
  • Experience with Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis, including implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, and relevant state safety regulations and best practices.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed and work in field and terminal environments.
  • Experience in DOT safety management, safety compliance or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • CDL is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, use data to drive decisions, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
