Job summary

A leading construction services firm is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to coordinate and implement health and safety policies in Texas. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in safety management and 3 years of experience, with certifications preferred. Regional Safety Manager

The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Regional Safety Manager for Northeast Ohio and the adjacent areas.

Position Summary: Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of employee health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA to promote and ensure highly effective and efficient Company‑wide safety operations in assigned area.

Position Responsibilities:

Administrative

  • Complete incident reporting and investigation within their assigned region and will accompany/transport an injured worker in need of medical attention.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with job superintendents to review job safety performance.
  • Maintain safety files and records; prepare reports for management as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of safety supplies to ensure project safety needs are met.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and coworkers.

Compliance

  • Help to ensure safety goals are achieved on every project and all governmental safety regulations are observed and practiced.
  • Assist in the preparation of all required regulatory reports.

Planning

  • Conduct pre‑job safety surveys and develop site specific safety plans for all jobs in assigned region of responsibility.
  • Attend job planning and owner meetings as needed to identify safety needs.

Policy Administration and Enforcement

  • Ensure Company safety policies and procedures are understood by employees and implemented consistently within assigned region of responsibility.
  • Conduct comprehensive on‑site safety assessments of projects as part of the constant monitoring process and monitor corrective actions taken.
  • Document all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensure corrective measures are immediately implemented; follow through to ensure corrections have been implemented; analyze and recommend corrective action for all incidents.
  • Recommend and enforce disciplinary actions against safety policy violators.

Training and Development

  • Develop Toolbox Safety Talks in compliance with Company safety policies; educate project employees and conduct training as needed.
  • Cultivate a positive attitude toward safe work practices among employees.
  • Visit every jobsite weekly in assigned region.
  • Ensure employees have all resources necessary to work safely.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, occupational safety and health, or related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation preferred.
  • OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 500 certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years construction safety experience preferred.
  • Understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and Company regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and other software as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively train and educate employees.
  • Willingness and ability to work some non‑traditional hours (evenings, weekends).
  • Team focused mindset to build strong working relationships.
