Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to oversee site safety and health programs for complex projects. You will develop and implement site safety plans, lead training initiatives, and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, NESC, and other standards.

Ideal candidates bring extensive S&H leadership, experience with 1910/1926/EM-385, and a proven ability to mentor teams, coordinate with customers and contractors, and continuously improve safety culture across programs.

Qualifications

  • 16+ years of safety management experience, emphasis on developing and implementation training programs with a high school diploma / GED.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, developing and implementing safety training plans and curriculmns
  • Conducting new hire orienation (OSHA 10, 30 and CPR/FA training)
  • Redesigning training material, programs and the employee expierence in hands-on training
  • Understanding and interpreting electrical safety standards; the National Electric Code (NEC), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)70E, NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and overseeing and managing the NFPA 70E training program
  • Monitoring and measuring effectiveness of training programs
  • Mentoring safety professionals and cross training with other safety professionals, and communicating updates to safety training material across the organization
  • Remaining current with all regulatory, operational, and technical matters relative to safety management and safety training programs
  • Participating in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors and advising on project-specific Risk and Hazard mitigation plans, S&H training program, and technical reports

Responsibilities

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for oversight of Construction Project Safety and Health (S&H), and Risk Management, effectively managing multiple Safety programs, developing and implementing M.C. Dean site-specific project safety plans, and collaborating with Project Management in the implementation and leadership of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process.

Qualifications
Education / Experience:
  • 16+ years of safety management experience, emphasis on developing and implementation training programs with a high school diploma / GED.
  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in safety management discipline (electrial expierence preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience with a Master's degree Experience conducting S&H training, Regulatory compliance expert/1910, 1926, EM-385
  • Bachelor's preferred
  • Safety Management Systems knowledge, skill and experience ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000
  • Understanding of culture and culture building skills
  • Trainer Designation OSHA 500/502 Safety and Health / Occupational Safety degree from an ABET accredited program Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
  • Willingness to pursue Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Previous electrical / construction / industrial /federal and commercial S&H experience, Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)
