Job summary

Forward Air Corporation seeks a Regional Workplace Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across transportation terminals, warehouses, and offices in the assigned region. You will develop and implement programs to protect employees, drivers, contractors, and assets, ensuring regulatory compliance and proactive risk management.

The role requires 5+ years of safety experience, CSP/ASP/OSHA credentials, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to travel region-wide to support

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred. Related experience may be considered.
• Certification such as CSP, ASP, OSHA certs, CDS, or equivalent safety credentials preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive workplace safety experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA and other regulations across the region.
• Develop and continuously improve regional safety programs and procedures.
• Partner with leadership to identify hazards and reduce risk region-wide.
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and compliance reviews.
• Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analyses.
• Deliver safety training to employees, drivers, contractors, and leaders.
• Analyze safety metrics and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare safety reports and present findings to regional and corporate leadership.
• Support new facility startups and operational changes with safety risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate safety records, training docs, incident reports, and audit findings.
• Support emergency planning, crisis management, and business continuity locally.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, Risk Management and other stakeholders on safety issues.
