Job summary

Pave America, LLC is seeking a Safety Director to lead health, safety, and environmental programs across the organization. This role reports to the Corporate Safety Director and will focus on driving safety culture and compliance in the field.

The position requires extensive field work in the greater Atlanta area (90%) and collaboration with HR/Operations to maintain up-to-date safety standards and training programs. Proficiency in Excel and bilingual communication are valued assets.

Qualifications

• 10 years of safety management experience.
• Construction experience required.
• Certifications in safety (ESCO/CSP/ASP) or OSHA 30/CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Maintain corporate reporting to OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA.
• Ensure compliance of subsidiaries with local, State, and Federal standards (Environmental, OSHA, DOT, FMSCA).
• Stay informed on upcoming changes to standards and requirements affecting the corporation.
• Work with 3rd party consultants in areas of responsibility.
• Assist in training local safety and fleet managers on standards.
• Participate in steering committees within the corporation.

As the guardian of safety standards and environmental stewardship within our organization, the Safety Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of our operations. They are responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety and environmental compliance programs, fostering a culture of safety consciousness, and proactively addressing environmental risks and challenges that align with corporate standards and local needs. This position will report directly to the Corporate Safety Director.

Responsibilities

• Maintain corporate reporting to OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA.
• Ensure compliance of individual subsidiaries with all local, State, and Federal Environmental, OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA standards.
• Stay informed an upcoming changes to standards in Environmental, OSHA, DOT and FMSCA standards that have an effect on the corporation and its operations.
• Work with 3rd party consultants in areas work responsibility.
• Assist in training local safety and fleet managers on standards.
• Participate in steering committees within the corporation.

This position will require 90% in the field performing site visits in the greater Atlanta market and 10% in the office.

Requirements

• 10 years of safety management experience.
• Construction experience is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Certifications (At least one of the following required):
  • ESCO certified
  • CSP - Certified Safety Professional
  • ASP - Associate Safety Professional
  • OSHA 30, CPR, and First Aid
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Work with HR/ Operations Managers to ensure all compliance areas are kept up to date.
• Monitor Samsara camera driving habits and maintain Pass Score to respectable level.
• Attend weekly meetings with Management. Attend meetings on projects with high safety requirements.
• Post accident investigation experience, including property damages.
• Post injury investigation experience.
