Job summary

Diversicare of Larned is seeking a Regional RN to support multiple centers within the region. You will supervise CNAs, render skilled nursing services, and ensure high-quality care aligned with physician orders.

The role requires an active RN license, leadership ability, and willingness to travel across centers. Experience in long-term care is preferred, and the position offers comprehensive benefits after 60 days.

Qualifications

  • Has a current license by the State Board of Nursing as an RN.
  • Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
  • Duties involve varied daily scheduling and travel within region.
  • Experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receives report on patient status and communicates it to the oncoming shift.
  • Conducts rounds in assigned area, assesses care, and interacts with staff and residents.
  • Provides direct nursing care per physician orders and resident needs.
  • Assists in planning care for patients based on individual needs.
  • Is a member of the Interdisciplinary Care Team.
  • Documents patient condition and care provided accurately.
  • May supervise other care providers during shifts.
  • Evaluates performance of nurses and aides; coaches as needed.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are followed and resident needs are met.
  • Coordinates actions in emergencies.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Supports Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures safe work practices are followed.
  • Provides empathetic communication to families about changes in condition.

As a Regional RN you will provide workforce support to assigned centers within the region. At the assigned center, you will render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit in support of the medical care staff and will supervise CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Receives report on patient/resident status from previous shift and provides this communication to oncoming shift.
  • 2. Makes physical rounds in assigned area of oversight assessing quality of care, intervening with provision of care and interacting with care givers and patients/residents.
  • 3. Provides direct care in line with the responsibilities of a nurse, assessing conditions, communicating with attending physicians/practitioners and carrying out nursing functions according to the needs of the patients.
  • 4. Assists in establishing a plan of care for patients based on their unique needs and in line with physician orders.
  • 5. Is a member of the Interdisciplinary Care Team.
  • 6. Accurately documents patient/resident condition including assessments, communication and care provided.
  • 7. May directly provide or supervise other providers of care such as medication pass, nursing care, documentation, treatments and supervision.
  • 8. Evaluates performance of nurses, nursing assistants and trained medication aides; coaches and disciplines as needed.
  • 9. Assesses and monitors to verify patient/residents’ needs are met and policies and procedures are followed.
  • 10. May respond and coordinate actions in emergency situations.
  • 11. Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing Services.
  • 12. Assists with the Continuous Quality Improvement Program initiatives.
  • 13. Ensures safe work practices are followed.
  • 14. Provides empathetic communication to families, patients/residents regarding change of condition and in response to care concerns, ensures resident rights are respected.
  • 15. Must be able to travel to any center within the region/company.
  • 16. Must be available to work overtime up to double shifts.
Qualifications
  • Has a current license by the State Board of Nursing as an RN.
  • Must have the ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change, as work schedule will change on a daily basis.
  • Able to work intimately with residents, physicians, and staff.
  • Experience in the long term care setting preferred.
  • Capable of working to prescribed nursing standards.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; has an interest to perform a service.
