Job summary

Skilled Nursing of Ohio is seeking a Regional Respiratory Therapy Resource to lead pulmonary initiatives across our SNF facilities in Ohio. The role focuses on developing and implementing pulmonary programs, ensuring PDPM accuracy, and improving quality metrics through cross-site collaboration.

You will travel to facilities with on-site emphasis and occasional remote work, reporting to senior clinical leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an Ohio license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Accredited with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Experience as Pulmonary Program Coordinator or similar in a skilled nursing setting for at least 1 year.
  • Proficiency with Point Click Care, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work transparently to enhance company culture.
  • Understanding of SNF regulations (state and federal).
  • Knowledge of staffing ratios and infection control related to RTs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to educate others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the Pulmonary Program across SNF facilities.
  • Travel daily to facilities with on-site focus and some remote work.
  • Develop, educate, and implement new pulmonary programs and interventions.
  • Coordinate with PPCs to align PDPM and dashboards; ensure accurate data and reporting.
  • Orient and develop newly hired PPCs in assigned buildings.
  • Lead weekly calls with PPCs to align goals with clinical and operational resources.
  • Plan and support annual Pulmonary Program Coordinator Retreats.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job description

Respiratory Therapist, we need your leadership! Are you familiar with the skilled nursing demographic? Then we welcome you to apply for our Regional Respiratory Therapy Resource that aims to support our skilled nursing facilities in Ohio. In our communities we have introduced a Pulmonary Program that affords the implementation of varied respiratory modalities, to lesson poor outcomes while improving on the quality of life for all those we serve.

What the position will entail:

Any resource candidate can expect daily travel to the Seven NorCal facilities that are stewarded, while balancing the auditing current systems and the creation of new ones. The position will be primarily onsite at the facilities with a small percentage of remote work.

  • The position of the Pulmonary Program Resource will be under the supervisor of the Chief Clinical Officer, with a dotted line of accountability to Regional Directors of Operation and their regional teams
  • Any Resource candidate will need to understand the oversight and efficacy of the role of the resource will be determined by compliance and the ability for the pulmonary program to affect quality measures such as hospitalizations, maintaining or improving ADLs, etc. The measurement tools utilized will be the Pulmonary Program Scorecard and Quality Measure Outcomes in addition to other metrics
  • The Pulmonary Program Resource will be involved in the development, education and implementation of new programs and interventions for the facilities they steward to create the optimal clinical environment for our residents to receive Pulmonary support.
  • The Pulmonary Program Resource will be working closely with their designated PPCs to ensure the Pulmonary Program Board ( PDPM) is up to date and accurate, ensure the information on Dashboard as it pertains to the Pulmonary Program is reconciling correctly and translating to appropriate operational outcomes; frequently auditing the processes to ensure adequate oversite occurs.
  • The Pulmonary Program Resource will be responsible for the orientation and development of newly hired PPC in the assigned buildings
  • The Pulmonary Program Resource will be responsible for weekly calls had with their assigned PPCs and align goals with clinical and operational resources so there is a common focus.
  • The Pulmonary Program Resource will assist with planning yearly Pulmonary Program Coordinator Retreats
  • All other duties as assigned
Asks and Qualifications for the Pulmonary Program Resource(s)Include but are not limited to:
  • Possess an Ohio license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a willingness to seek reciprocity or licensure in all states governed by Sweetwater
  • Accredited with the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Experience as a Pulmonary Program Coordinator or similar role with Sweetwater or another Skilled Nursing Company for a minimum of a year or equivalent experience in a Pulmonary Clinic setting for the same duration
  • Proficiency with Point Click Care navigation, Excel and PowerPoint facilitation is a must
  • Possess the ability to work in a transparent, humble manner in an effort to enhance company culture
  • Understanding of Regulations in Skilled Nursing Facilities, both state and federal in nature is required, coupled with the ability to then translate that knowledge to facilities to assist in preparation for any state or federal entity visits or scrutiny
  • Understanding of staffing ratios to ensure care is extended in a prudent way though mindful of expense
  • Understanding of Infection Control approaches and how that pertains to the Respiratory Therapists
  • Possess natural leadership skills and the ability to communicate in a manner that is seen as cooperative and adds value
  • Willingness to work well with varied team members at the facility and resource level
  • Ability to effectively educate others
