Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Regional Innovation Officer to lead The Bloch Quantum Tech Hub. You will develop strategy, governance, and reporting to catalyze a Midwest manufacturing ecosystem for quantum technologies, strengthen the supply chain, and secure diverse funding for new initiatives.

Reporting to the CQE CEO, you will coordinate with CQE staff, manage senior staff, and drive engagement with federal partners, industry, and academia to scale quantum deployment in the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• MBA or advanced degree in the sciences is preferred.
• Experience working within academic or complex organizational environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and manages The Bloch's shared vision and strategy and EDA Tech Hub Implementation Award in alignment with the Chicago Quantum Exchange and reporting to its CEO.
• Develops strategic plans for implementation, sustainability, and growth.
• Leverages knowledge of the quantum marketplace to foster industry collaborations and future workplace initiatives.
• Secures funding from philanthropic, corporate, venture, and federal sources to establish and lead new Bloch initiatives and programs.
• Coordinates governance through quarterly Governance Board meetings and cross-project Working Groups.
• Leads Bloch convenings to maximize connections and engagement opportunities, including deployment pilots.
• Works with CQE to integrate Bloch activities into the CQE community and ecosystem.
