Envision Radiology is adding a Regional Quality & Safety Specialist to the team!
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM |Position Pay Range: $68,100 - $85,150
Open to AL, AZ, CO, FL, ID, LA, MO, NE, NC, OK, TX, UT, VA & WI Markets.

Summary/Objective

This position provides day-to-day technical and administrative support for a specified region of operations. The Regional Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Quality and Safety standards for 15-20 centers in their specified region, and ensuring each location is always inspection-ready.

Summary/Objective:

  • Operates as a Subject Matter Expert supporting all staff questions/issues surrounding ACR, CMS, OSHA, FDA and other federal and state regulatory agency requirements for radiation and MRI safety.
  • Develops training materials, reviews program policies and monitors adherence to the Quality & Safety program communicating expectations and providing training on Quality & Safety initiatives to regional staff during onboarding and annually thereafter.
  • Observes, monitors and analyzes KPIs for identification of improvement opportunities and collaborates with operational leadership (Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents) to develop corrective action plans.
  • Investigates clinical incidents and other adverse events, assisting with coaching, conducting remedial training and reporting to the appropriate agencies, to include manufacturers and MAUDE database, as needed to prevent repetitive outcomes.
  • Manages all Q&S related tasks for new center openings by initiating ACR, state, CLIA applications, creating OSHA and SDS binders and training new center staff on Quality & Safety policies and processes.
  • Directs physicist acceptance testing for all new and existing equipment across all modalities and annual inspections for equipment and reading workstations for all facilities through collaboration with Area Managers, Lead Personnel, Development Department Managers and Certified Medical Physicists.
  • Manages radiation protection program ensuring employee radiation exposure As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), monitoring dose reports, investigating over exposures and consulting with Certified Medical Physicists.
  • Regularly visits centers to establish a trusting/reporting culture and conducts mock audits to assess compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements, to include: ACR, OSHA, FDA, Medicare and HIPAA; and communicates results to the Quality & Safety Committee.
  • Leads Radiation Safety Protection Committee for region reviewing CT and Fluoroscopic exam protocols and serves as Radiation Safety Officer if required by state in assigned region.
  • Responsible for responding to center ACR failures/notices and all inspection violations/discrepancies found during ACR, state and other regulatory agency inspections/audits.

    Work Environment

    This job operates remotely and is expected to work from a professional home office or other location environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
