Job summary

Jackson County Public Health seeks a Public Health Emergency Response Planner to strengthen regional preparedness and coordinate training and exercises with DHSS. You will work with Jackson County Health Department and partners to ensure readiness for emergencies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a track record of collaboration across teams; a Master's is preferred. This full-time position offers weekday hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree preferred in public health, emergency management, or related field.
• Valid driver's license is required and must comply with Fleet Driving Safety policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update regional public health emergency response plans with DHSS and Region A.
• Participate in state and local trainings and exercises for preparedness.
• Collaborate with health departments, hospitals, and regional partners to align plans.
• Evaluate and improve response strategies based on drills and events.
• Promote quality, safety, and cultural awareness in all activities.
• Maintain compliance with statutes, policies, and standards.
