Position Overview

The Regional Director will oversee the daily operations of our Starz markets in Richmond, VA and the Greater Washington, DC area. Serving as a strategic partner to the Area Owner, the Regional Director will oversee the leadership teams, business performance, operational systems, and strategic priorities across the two markets. The Regional Director will work closely with the Area Owner to understand the goals, priorities, and performance expectations for each market and will partner with Area Managers to translate those priorities into effective day-to-day execution.

This is a remote position with occasional in-person travel to Starz markets. Candidates should be based near Richmond, VA, Virginia Beach, or the Greater Washington, DC area. The role will require approximately 20 hours/week with availability throughout the week to respond to texts/calls/emails.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and support Area Managers through regular 1:1s, goal setting, problem-solving, and accountability.
• Help Area Managers strengthen their skills in leadership, team management, and business oversight.
• Ensure each market has appropriate leadership, staffing, and coverage to meet its current needs and support future growth.
• Build leadership depth so markets can remain strong through growth, turnover, and changing needs.

Business Performance & Market Growth

• Partner with the Area Owner to establish and monitor key goals for revenue, staffing, partnerships, and overall market health.
• Serve as a partner to Area Managers to support the execution of projects or to fill-in for the Area Manager if needed.
• Support Area Managers in strengthening school partnerships, growing revenue, and addressing partner concerns.
• Support seasonal planning, new program launches, and other key business priorities.
• Lead strategic growth initiatives, such as new school outreach and piloting new revenue channels.
• Share successful strategies and ideas across markets to improve overall performance.

Strategic & Operational Support

• Ensure Area Managers have the systems and resources needed to lead their markets effectively.
• Develop new ways to improve systems and processes as the business grows.
• Help solve complex staffing, partner, parent, and operational issues that require additional leadership support.
• Manage operations tasks for the Area Owner such as billing, invoicing, budgeting and compliance.
• Take ownership of select company-wide or strategic projects as needed.

Partnership with the Area Owner

• Meet regularly with the Area Owner to review market performance, leadership, staffing, priorities, and challenges.
• Serve as a trusted thought partner, bringing forward recommendations and solutions rather than simply reporting problems.
• Help translate company goals into clear priorities and action plans for Area Managers.
• Provide additional leadership support on behalf of the Area Owner when appropriate.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means the Area Owner has clear visibility into the health of each market and can rely on the Regional Director to keep leaders supported, accountable, and moving forward.

The Regional Director should help create markets that are:

• Well-led — Area Managers are effective, satisfied, and developing as leaders.
• Well-staffed — each market has the leadership and team capacity to operate effectively and maintain continuity as part-time team members transition in and out.
• Partner-focused — school and community partners are satisfied and positioned for continued growth.

Ultimately, the Regional Director creates leverage for the Area Owner by strengthening the people and structures of the business, allowing the Area Owner to spend more time focused on broader strategy and growth.

Requirements

• 18+ with a bachelor's degree or higher
• Must have a reliable car and valid driver’s license
• Able to pass background check and school screening requirements
• Able to lift up to 20 lbs and actively support movement-based classes without limitation

Position Details

• Job Type: Part-time (W-2 employee)
• Pay: $25/hour
• Reports to: Area Owner
• Direct Reports: Area Managers
• Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm)
• Work Arrangement: Primarily remote, with virtual meetings and occasional in-person visits as needed
• Leadership Cadence: Regular meetings with Area Managers and the Area Owner
• Pay Schedule: Direct deposit every other Friday
• Seasonal Flexibility: Additional availability may be needed during peak enrollment, staffing, or program-launch periods
