Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced Local Policy Regional Manager to lead the company’s government affairs across the United States for our data center site strategy. You will collaborate with local governments to advance infrastructure, permitting, and economic development at current and future sites.

Based in the United States, this remote role requires frequent travel (up to 80%) and close partnership with Infrastructure, Data Center, and Community Engagement teams to align policy with site timelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, business/strategy, economics, legal, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in state or local public policy, advocacy, or government affairs.
• Experience with the political process, policymakers, and stakeholders in data center site locations.
• Knowledge of technology, infrastructure, data center, and economic development policy.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• Experience creating advocacy campaigns achieving milestones related to policy/advocacy goals.
• Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and multi-tasking in time-sensitive settings.
• Experience communicating nuanced concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead local government affairs across current and future data center sites in the United States.
• Develop and execute a local government affairs strategy with cities, counties, municipalities, and regional bodies.
• Advocate for data center infrastructure investment, permitting, and economic development.
• Monitor political environment and identify opportunities to advance policy.
• Align local policy with site selection, development timelines, and community commitments.
• Collaborate with industry groups, nonprofits, and legislative organizations to promote objectives.
• Engage chambers of commerce and civil society groups to advance priorities.
• Provide timely updates to cross-functional partners on policy developments.
• Manage relationships with policymakers, contract lobbyists, and trade associations.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% as needed.
