In this role, you will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional individual donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the Southern California Red Cross Region. May lead team in planning and implementing fundraising strategies. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. **Prefer a candidate in the San Diego Area.** ***This is a hybrid work position which includes a mix of virtual and in-office work (2-3 days/week). The position also requires frequent travel for face-to-face meetings with donors, staff and other constituents.*** ***WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD**** Build and deepen meaningful relationships with current and prospective individual donors throughout the **Southern California Region**, guiding them from initial connection through long‐term stewardship.* Partner with the local fundraising team to design and execute a regional donor strategy focused on qualification, retention, growth, and re‐engagement of past supporters.* Collaborate cross‐functionally with fundraising colleagues and internal partners to create customized solicitation strategies that align donor interests with organizational priorities.* Manage and actively solicit an assigned portfolio of donors through in‐person visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of compelling, personalized proposals and materials.* Achieve annual revenue goals by successfully cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospects.* Lead and implement a major gift strategy focused on donors giving $10,000 or more, with a strong emphasis on maximizing philanthropic impact for the American Red Cross.* Maintain accurate and timely donor records, activity tracking, and portfolio management within Salesforce.* Help donors find purpose and meaning through their philanthropy by connecting their passions to the life‐saving mission of the American Red Cross.* Participate in disaster relief fundraising efforts as needed, supporting the organization’s response during times of greatest need.* Will drive vehicle to other locations. Responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes or use a Red Cross fleet vehicle.***WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**** Education: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree highly desirable.* Experience: Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.* Skills & Abilities: Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS-Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation.* A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.* Frequent travel within the Southern California Region. *\\* Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined.****Compensation:*** *The salary range for this position is $95,000- $102,000.* *You will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan based on annual individual and organization performance.**Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
