Job summary

New River Valley Community Services is seeking a Regional Peer Recovery Specialist to support individuals in recovery and their families through training, planning, and implementing support activities. This role includes weekly visits to Marion State Hospital to lead group activities, provide peer support, and coordinate discharge planning with a multidisciplinary team.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist required.
• Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and identify at least one year in recovery.

New River Valley Community Services is seeking a Regional Peer Recovery Specialist! The Regional Peer Recovery Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals in recovery and their families through the planning, development, and implementation of training and support activities. This position includes weekly visits to Marion State Hospital to facilitate group activities, provide peer support, and coordinate discharge planning with a multidisciplinary treatment team. The Specialist also leads a Regional Recovery Steering Committee, organizes monthly recovery support meetings, and builds strong partnerships with community recovery programs and advocacy organizations.

Full-Time Hourly Pay Range: $17.29-$19.88

Education/Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s degree in human services or related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required.
• Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify a year in recovery.

Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.
