Job summary

Massachusetts Teachers Association Holyoke, MA is seeking a Regional Manager to lead the statewide organizer team and advance organizing and contract priorities across the state. The role collaborates with field and organizing staff and local affiliates to engage members and promote the union’s initiatives.

The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage campaigns, budgets, and staff resources in a complex public education environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience representing unions in public sector bargaining and organizing.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive organizing plans with data analysis and messaging.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel statewide and nationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises regional organizing staff and conducts performance reviews.
• Develops strategic plans to strengthen locals and connect members to union activities.
• Oversees regional budgeting and resource allocation.
• Coordinates with directors and field staff to deliver services.
• Builds relationships with civic and community leaders to support the Association.
• Ensures accurate information on locals, officers, and contracts is maintained.
• Assists in creating and distributing membership materials.
• Attends executive committee and board meetings as required.
