Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services Float Pool at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. You will support the Wake region ORs, preparing and stocking the operating room and maintaining sterile instrument fields.

The role requires graduation from a Surgical Technology program or accredited nursing program, with 3 years of experience preferred and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or accredited school of Nursing.
• 3 years of experience strongly preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy under direct supervision of the RN.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Communicates to the team in a professional manner and demonstrates effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional growth.
• Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
