Job summary

Digital Realty seeks a Regional Head of Operations & Controls to drive operational excellence across the Americas, chair gating reviews, manage budgets, KPIs, and regional technology deployment from Ashburn, VA or Dallas, TX. You will align regional activities with global standards to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery while meeting commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in data center design or construction with progressive leadership
• Strong experience in construction project management, including risk management, digital transformation, and operational optimization
• Proficiency with construction and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera P6, SmartPM, FacilityGrid, Microsoft Lists, Smartsheets, Monday.com, Power BI, Procore, Yardi Elevate, Yardi Voyager, Textura) and familiarity with automation concepts
• Deep understanding of schedule governance, change control, and owner-operator development environments
• Proven expertise in risk management across complex multi-disciplinary construction projects
• Experience managing full project lifecycle from design through construction, commissioning, and IST
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align teams across the Americas region
• Demonstrated ability to drive collaboration, resolve conflicts, and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Own the governance of the regional gating process—chairing gate reviews and ensuring gates run consistently, on time and to standard
• Run the operational backbone of the region—budgeting, resourcing, meeting cadence and coordination of initiatives
• Own regional performance reporting and KPI management to global guidance
• Lead implementation of the technology stack regionally per global guidance and the correct setup of projects in the systems of record
• Coordinate the region's engagement with cross-functional partners and teams
• Own the regional disciplines of program delivery—schedule governance and risk management at portfolio level
• Design and implement regional risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across the portfolio
• Own regional data structures and analytics, implementing automation and data strategies
• Own the business review cycle and the performance management it drives
• Own the operational processes of onboarding, offboarding and training
• Own regional benchmarking and market intelligence and feed insights to global teams
