Job summary

WITRON Group in Arlington Heights, IL seeks an Operations Optimization Manager to lead site-wide improvements across production, maintenance and project teams. You will develop standardized processes, drive continuous improvement, and mentor sites to achieve safety and performance goals.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership in automated environments, strong data analytics, and experience with Lean/Kaizen. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or formal certification/training in manufacturing, production systems, or industrial safety.
• 3-5 years of experience leading teams in a production or automated environment.
• Strong understanding of production workflows and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices (preferred).
• Experience escalating and resolving mechanical or IT-related faults.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Review and improve operational workflows to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance quality, safety, and performance.
• Identify root causes of underperformance and develop corrective action plans; monitor progress until performance stabilizes.
• Design, document, and implement standardized operational processes and ensure SOPs are clear, accessible, and adopted across sites.
• Conduct site-level operational assessments covering production flow, staffing, material movement, quality controls, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align improvement initiatives and support new/underperforming sites.
• Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of optimized processes.
• Manage Site Optimization personnel and coordinate project support teams; develop tailored support plans.
• Deliver training and on-floor coaching to supervisors and leadership teams to embed operational standards.
• Apply Lean/Kaizen/RCA/PDCA methodologies to prioritize and execute improvement initiatives.
