Job summary

US Ice Rinks, Inc. is seeking a Regional Manager, Operations to oversee facilities in the Frisco, TX area.

This on-site role includes hiring, training, and scheduling maintenance staff, managing ice quality, and supervising capital projects to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained venues during events. The ideal candidate has at least five years of supervisory experience in a multi-sport facility, with strong knowledge of ice rink operations, electrical/plumbing/HVAC, and ammonia systems.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience supervising in a multi-sport entertainment facility.
  • Extensive knowledge of day-to-day ice rink business including heavy equipment/machinery, ice maintenance and installation.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and ammonia systems.
  • Ability to change filters, belts, bearings, etc., on various equipment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Regional Manager, Operations

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing operations of assigned facilities. This role includes assisting with the hiring, training, and scheduling of facility maintenance staff, as well as overseeing local maintenance of the ice, equipment, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems. This role contributes to project oversight across designated properties, driving timely execution and operational efficiency. Additionally, they will play a key role in the successful execution of all ice events, ensuring the facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicate regularly with General Managers on budget control and staffing decisions
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement energy-efficient practices
  • Lead, train, and motivate operations staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work
  • Assist the Regional Operations Director in long-term operations planning
  • Work with General Managers and ROD on expense control, operational efficiency, and capital expenditure
  • Oversee work schedules and supervises the execution of maintenance tasks and capital projects
  • Maintain high standards for ice quality, equipment upkeep, and overall facility appearance
  • Ice installations, and removals as part of supervisory duties
  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needs
  • Ensure the facility is event-ready and operates smoothly during all functions
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors on building and site maintenance activities
  • Promote a safe environment for patrons and staff by adhering to life safety and emergency protocols
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and elevate customer experience
  • Enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures effectively
  • Anticipate problems and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication
  • Report mechanical repair needs to the Engineering department in a timely and efficient manner

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising in a multi-sport entertainment facility
  • Extensive knowledge of day-to-day ice rink business including heavy equipment/machinery, ice maintenance and installation, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and ammonia systems
  • Ability to change filters, belts, bearings, etc., on various pieces of equipment and/or machinery
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience driving forklifts, scissor, and boom lifts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to frequently work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands and Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office environment, with noise levels usually moderate.
