Job summary

The Machinists Institute in Spokane, WA seeks a Director of Regional Operations to lead workforce development initiatives with a focus on equity and inclusion. This full-time role involves building partnerships with employers, colleges, and community organizations to advance regional training programs.

You will oversee program delivery, manage instructors and facilities, travel as needed, and ensure successful apprenticeship initiatives across aerospace, automotive and manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• Strong project planning and coordination of stakeholders to meet goals.
• Experience in workforce development, apprenticeship, educational program development.
• Interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience providing training/orientation in multiple formats.
• Ability to present program benefits to employers and agencies.
• Experience organizing events promoting educational programs.
• Familiarity with grants, contracts, budgets and proposals.
• Proven track record supervising projects and teams.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to students, instructors, and industry partners to ensure training and apprenticeship program initiatives are achieved.
• Actively seek out and develop partnerships with local employers, community and technical colleges as well as regional workforce stakeholders.
• Oversee facility development to include industry relevant equipment requisition, continual improvement and proper maintenance schedules.
• Manage relationships with instructors; monitoring teaching performance, providing professional development opportunities, and ensuring all areas of programs have subject matter experts to teach.
• Lead efforts in outreach to students for all training programs; attending career fairs, speaking at local area high schools, follow up on interest in programs.
• Provide orientation and ongoing technical support to assist with any other issues that arise that affect success in their program.
• Focus on equity and inclusion across all aspects of their role.
