Job summary

Jobtailor in Milpitas, CA, seeks an experienced Memory Care leader to oversee resident care, staffing, and activity programs across communities. The role requires frequent travel and close collaboration with Traditions and Executive Directors to maintain Oakmont standards.

The ideal candidate has dementia care experience, leadership skills, and a track record in budgeting and HR. RCFE certification and DOJ background check are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Two years as a Traditions Director or equivalent in a similar field.
  • Two years working with persons with dementia and one year in a management/leadership role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BA/BS in gerontology, psychology, social work, or related field, or four years experience in social services, residential care, psychiatric facility, or related setting.
  • Ability to speak at public events.
  • Must meet CA DDS dementia trainer qualifications.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain RCFE Administrator Certification.
  • Pass a DOJ Criminal Background Check.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Memory Care and Health Services programs, including regulatory compliance.
  • Manage resident care, activity programming, and staffing in Memory Care across communities.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new Directors.
  • Assist in retraining and coaching Traditions Directors as directed.
  • Conduct Traditions Program Audits and follow guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to Oakmont Traditions policies and procedures.
  • Participate in policy and procedure development as part of a team.
  • Assist in new development/openings of communities.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Support our communities across the portfolio and require frequent travel.
  • Be willing to travel up to 100% of the time within our portfolio.
  • Handle travel assignments that may be for extended periods and can change often, requiring flexibility and availability.
  • Work closely with Communities' Traditions Directors and Executive Directors in maintaining standards, policies, and procedures related to Memory Care.
  • Support the Memory Care and Health Services programs, including regulatory compliance and adherence to Oakmont standards.
  • Manage all resident care, activity programming, and staffing of Memory Care services throughout the community, covering early memory loss and middle to late-stage memory loss programs.
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding of new Directors.
  • Assist in retraining and coaching of Traditions Directors as determined by the Regional Memory Care Director in conjunction with the Executive Director and other regional and corporate team members.
  • Conduct assigned Traditions Program Audits and follow up in a timely manner, following all guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all Oakmont Traditions policies and procedures in all assigned communities.
  • Participate in policy and procedure development as part of a collaborative team as assigned by the Regional Memory Care Director.
  • Assist in new development/openings of communities as assigned.
Qualifications
