Job summary

Merck in Hartford, CT seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology. The role drives scientific exchange, supports clinical research concepts and liaises between the scientific community and the company to advance AOIs and investigator-initiated studies.

The position requires credentialing and strategic engagement with SLs, adhering to GMSA policies, SOPs and GCP guidelines in a field-based setting.

Qualifications

• Credentialed (MD/PhD/PharmD/DNP) required.
• Experience as Medical Science Liaison or similar.
• Strong communication and scientific exchange skills.
• Ability to engage with national/regional Scientific Leaders (SLs).

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national/regional SLs for approved medical information access.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains medical contact with SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions and directs SL inquiries to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of AOI in the therapeutic area and company policies.
• Initiates discussions with SLs/investigators to align research strategies and trials.
• Identifies barriers to patient enrollment/retention in studies.
